Lincoln -- Lancaster County Court Judge Jean Lovell is retiring May 1, 2012 after more than 13 years on the bench.
She recently submitted a resignation letter to the Governor, indicating her plan to step down May 1, 2012. In her letter she noted, “It has been my pleasure to serve as Lancaster County Court Judge since January 1, 1999.”
The first step in replacing Judge Lovell will be for the Judicial Resources Commission to call a meeting to determine whether or not, based on judicial workload statistics, the retirement of Judge Lovell creates a vacancy in the Third Judicial District (Lancaster County Court).
