Administrative Office of the Courts & Probation
Working under the direction of the Nebraska Supreme Court, the Administrative Office of the Courts & Probation provides leadership and direction for the effective operations of the Nebraska Judicial Branch as well as central administrative infrastructure services for the Judicial Branch. This includes finance, human resources, technology, adult and juvenile probation, public information, education and organization development, and intergovernmental relations.
The State Court Administrator plans for statewide Judicial Branch needs, develops and promotes statewide administrative practices and procedures, oversees the operation of trial court programs and strategic initiatives, and serves as a liaison with other branches of government. The Probation Administrator does the same for statewide probation staff, programs and services.
Throughout the Judicial Branch, innovative business techniques and new procedures are constantly under evaluation for possible introduction at all levels in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness and to make courts more accessible to the citizens of Nebraska.
The Office of the State Court Administrator is organized into the following sections:
Public Information and Community Education; Human Resources; Information Technology; Interpreter Services; Judicial Branch Education; and a variety of trial court services which include Mediation, Problem Solving Courts, Facilities and Security, Special Projects and Trial Court Services.
The Office of Probation Administration is divided into: Organizational Development and Training, Community-Based Supervision Programs and Services , and Operations and Information Technology.
