
Shane Stutzman was appointed Chief Probation Officer for Probation District #5 effective September 19, 2011.
Ms. Stutzman brings extensive experience within the Nebraska Probation System to her new job as Chief. After 18 years as a Nebraska State Probation Officer, she was appointed Chief Deputy of District #5, a position she held for four years. Ms. Stutzman was appointed Acting Chief Probation Officer in April of this year. Her management of District #5 during this interim time has been exemplary.
Chief Stutzman possesses extensive knowledge of evidence-based practices, data-driven decision-making, and personnel management.
Ms. Stutzman was the recipient of the Nebraska Supreme Court Outstanding Probation Supervisor (Bob Keller Memorial Award) in 2010.
She possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Chief Stutzman obtained additional training/certifications in Women’s Leadership Across Boundaries from the National Institute of Corrections, Training for Trainers, Real Colors Temperament Profiling, and SuperVision Training from Southeast Community College-Lincoln. She is also a certified Moral Recognition Therapy (MRT) facilitator and has obtained additional ongoing training in motivational interviewing, leadership and case management as well as training in areas related to the special needs/responsibility of adult and juvenile probationers.
