Judicial Resources Commission to Hold Public Hearing September 15

PUBLIC HEARING:  The Judicial Resources Commission will hold a public hearing on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. central daylight time, in Room 1507 of the State Capitol Building in Lincoln, Nebraska, to consider:

  1. Whether a judicial vacancy exists in the office of the County Court, 4th Judicial District, due to the recent appointment of Judge Derek R. Vaughn to the District Court bench.
  2. Whether a judicial vacancy exists in the office of the District Court, 11th Judicial District, due to the retirement of Judge James E. Doyle IV, effective August 31, 2023.

PUBLIC TESTIMONY OPTIONS: Those wishing to present testimony during the public hearing may either (1) appear in person at the State Capitol and sign in as a witness, or (2) submit written testimony in advance of the hearing by emailing it to: Dawn.Mussmann@nejudicial.gov or by mailing it postage pre-paid to: Judicial Resources Commission, State Capitol Building, P.O. Box 98910, Lincoln, NE 68509. To be considered by the Commission, any written testimony must be received no later than September 12, 2023. All written testimony submitted by the deadline will be marked as an exhibit, received at the hearing, and made available to the public.
