Ceremonial Session of Nebraska Supreme Court Memorializing Career of Retired Chief Justice C. Thomas White

A special session of the Supreme Court will be held honoring former Chief Justice C. Thomas White Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the Nebraska Supreme Court Chamber of the State Capitol.

Justice White died on December 11, 2020, at the age of 92. In 1965, C. Thomas White was appointed to the Nebraska District Court in Columbus, NE. In 1976, he was appointed to the Nebraska Supreme Court and sat as a judge on that court until 1994. At that time, he was appointed Chief Justice of the Nebraska Supreme Court and so served until his retirement from the bench in 1998. 

Chief Justice Michael Heavican will preside over the ceremony for the late justice.
