Case Summary

S-22-0425 In the Interest of K.C., alleged to be developmentally disabled and a threat of harm to others (Appellant)

Appeal from the District Court for Douglas County, Judge James M. Masteller

Attorneys:  Kyle M. Melia (Asst. Douglas County Public Defender for Appellant) and Ann C. Miller (Deputy Douglas County Attorney for Appellee)

Civil:  Developmental Disabilities Court-Ordered Custody Act

Proceedings below:  The trial court found Appellant to be developmentally disabled, to be a threat of harm to others, and to be a person in need of court-ordered custody and treatment. On its own motion, the Supreme Court ordered this case to be transferred from the docket of the Court of Appeals to its docket.

Issues: Appellant makes the following assignment of error:  the district court’s judgment is unsupported by evidence which is clear and convincing that the subject was a threat of harm to others and in need of court-ordered treatment.
