Criminal:  Life Imprisonment

Proceedings below:  A jury found Appellant guilty of first-degree murder, use of a weapon to commit a felony, and possession of a weapon by a prohibited person, and the district court sentenced him to consecutive terms of life in prison, thirty (30) years to fifty (50) years in prison, and three (3) years to five (5) years in prison, respectively.  Life imprisonment cases are direct appeals to the Supreme Court.    

Issues:  Appellant makes the following assignments of error: 1) Allowing into evidence over objection what Mary Hinds told Officer Nelson as to Appellant's whereabouts; 2) Allowing into evidence over objection what “females” told Investigator Bonney as to Appellant's location in the Saint Paul residence; 3) Allowing Marisa Stephens to testify as to a video's contents; 4) Not allowing Marisa Stephens to testify whether Mr. Farah was under the influence; 5) Not allowing Officer Sullivan to testify if Appellant is remorseful, it would look better to a judge or jury; and 6) Not allowing Officer Sullivan to testify Sullivan (during Appellant's interview) believed Appellant.
