The Administrative Office of the Courts and Probation is currently accepting applications for a full-time Administrative Assistant for the Information Technology (IT) Division.

This position is responsible for administrative support work and responsibilities may include managing calendar for department director; creating department budget estimates; coordinating vendor procurement contracts; handling escalated customer service requests requiring advanced knowledge, experience and independent initiative; processing vendor procurement contracts; maintaining records; and coordinating travel reservations and logistics for department head. Applicants should possess a working knowledge of IT Systems including applicable hardware, software, and peripheral equipment; technology troubleshooting techniques; customer service principles; applicable hand tools and diagnostic equipment; basic training techniques; recordkeeping principles; computers and related software applications. Performs additional duties as required.

HIRING RATE (during probationary period):  $46,874.30 Annually

 

MINIMUM PERMANENT RATE (after probationary period): $48,046.20 Annually

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Associate degree in information technology or related field; and 2 years of advanced administrative support experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Experience planning and hosting events. Equivalent education or experience will be considered.  Knowledge of the judicial branch of government, the organizational structure of the Nebraska Probation/Court System.  Foreign language skills are preferred but not required.  All educational credits must be granted from an accredited institution approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education.  Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge of troubleshooting and repairing hardware, software, and peripherals; installing hardware and software; providing end-user support; communicating technical information to a non-technical audience; maintaining records; providing training and instruction on hardware and software; using a computer and related software applications; communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Working knowledge of information technology systems and structures.
  • Skilled at Microsoft 365
  • Ability to be a self-starter, a problem solver, and able to organize and prioritize the workload.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to establish and cultivate good working relationships with coworkers, individuals in positions of authority, field staff, and the general public.
  • Demonstrates customer services skills including the ability to effectively communicate and deescalate difficult conversations.
  • Working knowledge of modern office equipment, including software applications, telephone and video conferencing.
  • Proficient in developing, navigating and generating data from databases and spreadsheets.
  • Compiling and checking documents, records, and reports to confirm accuracy and completeness.
  • Processes and responds to requests for information from supervisors, employees, and other stakeholders.
